CLEVELAND - The Delta State University Statesmen Baseball program added two standouts from Marion Military Institute on Wednesday, as Craig Herrmann (SS) and Jon Carnahan (C) signed national letters of intent to play for the green-and-white.

Herrmann, a 6-foot-2, 200 pound sophomore shortstop from Fort Worth, Texas, batted .352 in 53 games as a freshman with 11 doubles, four home runs and 32 RBIs.  In 162 plate appearances, Herrmann struck out just 19 times.

Carnahan, a 6-foot-3, 230 pound sophomore catcher from Port Neches, Texas, batted .325 in 52 games as a freshman with 16 doubles, six home runs and 33 RBIs.  Carnahan also scored 33 runs and collected 52 hits last season.

The infield tandem plays at Marion Military under head coach Brett Davis.

The Statesmen expect at least two more signees in the early period.  As signings become available, www.GoStatesmen.com will have complete coverage.
