BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – Delta State University, 2008 Gulf South Conference champions, placed 10 players on the All-Gulf South Conference Team, as announced by the conference office Thursday. For a third-consecutive year the Statesmen had the GSC Defensive Player of the Year, as junior linebacker Lardester Hicks-Green received the honor. Head coach Ron Roberts earned his second straight Coach of the Year award after guiding the Statesmen to back-to-back GSC titles.

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – For the first time in program history, the Delta State University football team will enter the postseason as the top seed out of Super Regional II. The NCAA Division II Football Committee released the field of 24 on Sunday for the upcoming Division II Football Championship with DSU receiving one of four No. 1 seeds. Bloomsburg (Super Regional I), Grand Valley State (Super Regional III), and Abilene Christian (Super Regional IV) were the other No. 1 seeds.

CARROLLTON, Ga. – It proved to be a historic night for the fourth-ranked Delta State University football team, as the Statesmen (9-1, 8-0 Gulf South Conference) cruised to the program’s 400th all-time win, 68-10, over the University of West Georgia (0-10, 0-8 GSC) at Grisham Stadium.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Delta State fell just short of pulling out a victory against the TigerSharks of Ouachita Baptist University. Swimming World Magazine's "Dual Meet of the Week," on the campus of OBU, finished as a sweep of the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen with an overall score of 264-212.
