WINTER PARK, Fla. - Delta State University senior third baseman Josh Gordon was named to the Daktronics, Inc. All-South Region Second Team on Thursday.  The Daktronics All-South Region First and Second Teams are nominated and selected by a vote of the region's Sports Information Directors.

CLEVELAND - The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Cellular South, Inc., announced on Monday, May 10 that the 7th annual Cellular South Ferriss Trophy presentation ceremony will be held on the campus of Delta State University on Monday, May 24 at the Bologna Performing Arts Center.  A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the award's ceremony scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA announced the field for the 2010 Division II National Championship Baseball Tournament on Sunday night and for the second time in three years the Statesmen (34-16-1) of Delta State University will not be participating.  The Statesmen entered the final regular season regional rankings at No. 6, but slipped out of the top eight spots during postseason selections.

CLEVELAND – The Alabama-Huntsville Chargers pulled off arguably the biggest upset of the 2010 Morgan Keegan Gulf South Conference Baseball Tournament by outlasting No. 18 Delta State by a score of 20-18 Tuesday.

CLEVELAND –The No. 18 Statesmen (34-15-1) of Delta State University came apart at the seams in the bottom of ninth inning, as the No. 15 Blazers (38-17) scored three runs off reliever Jason Coats (7-1) to claim a come-from-behind 5-4 victory at Ferriss Field in the first round of the Morgan Keegan Gulf South Conference Tournament. With the loss, the Statesmen slip into the loser’s bracket and will face the Chargers of Alabama-Huntsville on Tuesday at 1 p.m., while the Blazers face No. 4 Southern Arkansas at 8 p.m.
