Green & White Fund
Originally established in 1970 as the DSU Booster Club, the Green & White Fund was restructured in 2000 to foster support of men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics through avenues of giving that include annual giving, scholarship endowment, planned giving opportunities, and special project support.
Delta State University prides itself on a tradition of excellence, both in the classroom and on the field of competition. Our student-athletes are excellent scholars as well as competitors, and with the support of the Green & White Fund, that tradition will continue.
The Mission
The Green & White Fund has the obligation and the responsibility, as a nonprofit corporation, to use its resources in a responsible and effective manner to foster the mission of Delta State University Athletics and Delta State University. The mission of the Green & White Fund is to aid the Athletics Department in the form of student-athlete scholarships, funding for facility improvements, supplement funding to individual sports, and in many other ways necessary to have an outstanding athletics program.
Why give to the G&W Fund?
Because State funding for Delta State Athletics is limited, the Green & White Fund is an integral factor in providing for the excellence of the program. Through donations of DSU supporters, the Green & White Fund is able to provide financial support for student-athletes participating in thirteen varsity sports.
Statesmen and Lady Statesmen supporters throughout the United States and the world show their pride in DSU athletics by being a part of the Green & White Fund. We welcome all DSU alumni and friends.
The Green & White Fund provides three distinct “giving” opportunities:
A. Annual Giving Program
B. Student-Athlete Scholarship Endowment
C. Special Project Fund
Your donation at work
Over the last two years we have seen record growth in DSU athletics. The Billy Dorgan, Jr. Student-Athlete Performance Center and the J.A. “Bud” Thigpen Baseball Annex opened. There have been numerous facility improvements at Dave “Boo” Ferriss Field, University Field and the University Soccer fields. Your donation has gone to help furnish equipment, uniforms, and anything necessary to help keep DSU athletics at the top of the Gulf South Conference and NCAA Division II. Without your support much of what is accomplished at DSU would not be possible! Coming Soon...the Robert Crawford Center is nearing completion, and the renovation of Parker Field & Sillers Coliseum!
Donor Benefits
There are many advantages to be gained from donating to the Green & White Fund. While some of the benefits include specific items such as media guides and parking privileges, the most important benefit donors receive is the satisfaction that you have given Delta State’s student-athletes an opportunity to compete academically and athletically at a national level.
