NSISC CHAMPIONSHIPS: 12 teams set to battle for league crown at DSU Aquatics Center

CLEVELAND - Seven universities and 13 combined teams are set to battle for the prestigious crown of champion at the 2011 New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships Wednesday, Feb. 9 through Saturday, Feb. 12 at the DSU Aquatics Center.  Delta State University will serve as meet host once again this season.

NCAA Division II powers Drury University, which became the first program to win back-to-back national titles in men's and women's competition, headlines this year's 22nd annual NSISC Championships.  Also returning are the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs of Truman State University, who narrowly missed out on taking the team titles last season.

Henderson State University, Missouri S&T University, University of New Orleans, Ouachita Baptist University and host Delta State University round out the field.

"We're excited about this year's field," stated DSU head coach Dan'l Murray.  "Whoever comes out of here this week with the crown will certainly be ready for nationals."

The four-day meet begins Wednesday night at 7 p.m. followed by prelims each day at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.  Saturday's final day of competition will begin at 5 p.m.
