VALDOSTA, Ga. - Chad Smith birdied the first playoff hole to claim individual medalist honors while leading Valdosta State to a nine stroke victory at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate at the par-72, 7,907 yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club Tuesday.
Smith finished the tournament at two-under-par with a 214 to match the score put up by Florida Southern's Matt Stauch and Georgia College's Niclas Johansson. Stauch and Johannon each parred the playoff hole to give Smith the victory.
The Blazers finished the tournament with a nine-over 873 while FSC was second at 882. North Alabama and Georgia College tied for third at 884 while Barry rounded out the top five with an 885.
Armstrong Atlantic was six shots back and in sixth place followed by Lander (892), West Florida (894) and Nova Southeastern (900). Lynn claimed 10th with a 905 while the remainder of the field included Columbus State (906), West Georgia (907), Rollins (919), Clayton State (920), Carson-Newman (922),
Delta State (926), Florida Tech (929) and Eckerd (982).
