Alton Robinson named GSC West Player of the Week
CLEVELAND - Delta State University senior Alton Robinson, a 6-foot-7 forward from Hattiesburg, has been named the Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Week for the period ending Tuesday, Feb. 10. Robinson's selection marks the second DSU honoree in three weeks. It's also his second accolade of the season after leading the Statesmen to a 77-70 victory at Ouachita Baptist.

Alton Robinson, a 6-foot-7 forward from Hattiesburg, has been named the Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Week for the period ending Tuesday, Feb. 10. Robinson's selection marks the second DSU honoree in three weeks. It's also his second accolade of the season after leading the Statesmen to a 77-70 victory at Ouachita Baptist.
The senior netted a game-high 24 points and added seven rebounds in 32 minutes versus the Tigers at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia, Ark., last Thursday. The Hattiesburg native also shot 64 percent from the floor, 75.0 percent from three-point range and 75.0 percent from the charity stripe.
Robinson will lead the Statesmen into two key GSC contests this week. The Statesmen travel to Monticello, Ark., on Thursday to face Arkansas-Monticello before returning to Cleveland Saturday to host No. 8-ranked Christian Brothers.
