Foreman Classic Final Results
CLEVELAND –The 21st annual Derrall Foreman Classic, hosted by Delta State University at the Cleveland Country Club, concluded Saturday in one the closest finishes in recent memory. The overall title came down to the 18th and final hole, as UNA’s Brett Munson sealed a one-stroke win for North Alabama over Delta State 571-572.
North Alabama’s Brett Munson, the 2008 Foreman Classic Medalist who fired a first round 4-under 68, finished the Foreman Classic for the second-straight year as the Individual Medalist with a final round 66 to finish 10-under at 134.
The Statesmen, who shot a first round 288 and entered Saturday’s second round one stroke off the lead, finished with a 572 after recording a final round 284.
Colin McCrary led the Statesmen with a two-day 140 after carding a 3-under 69 on Saturday. McCrary was named to the All-Tournament Team after finishing fourth overall.
Jordan Breaux (72-71) finished seventh overall and second for the Statesmen with a 143. Austin Smithers (73-71) was tied for eighth with a 144, while Chase Smith (72-73) carded a 145 to finish 12th. Seth McBrayer closed out the scoring for the Statesmen with a 152 (78-74) tied for 37th overall.
Casey Patterson finished 12th overall for the Statesmen as an individual with a 145 (71-74). Andrew Simons finished 51st overall with a 157 (80-77).
The Foreman Classic All-Tournament Team was led by Munson’s 10-under 134 (68-66). Henderson State’s Matt Atkins finished second with a 138 (69-69) and was tied with Richard Doherty of Lindenwood (71-67) with a 138. DSU’s McCrary was fourth overall with a 140, while UNA’s Tyler Chandler (73-69) and Arkansas Tech’s Graham Rucker (74-68) rounded out the team with a 142.
