Originally established in 1970 as the DSU Booster Club, the
Statesman Club was restructured in 2013 to foster support of men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics through avenues of giving that include annual giving, scholarship endowment, planned giving opportunities, and special project support.
Delta State University prides itself on a tradition of excellence, both in the classroom and on the field of competition. Our student-athletes are excellent scholars as well as competitors, and with the support of the
Statesman Club, that tradition will continue.
The Mission
The
Statesman Club has the obligation and the responsibility, in association with the Delta State Foundation, a legal nonprofit corporation, to use its resources in a responsible and effective manner to foster the mission of Delta State University Athletics. The mission of the
Statesman Club is to aid the Athletics Department in the form of student-athlete scholarships, funding for facility improvements, supplement funding to individual sports, and in many other ways necessary to have an outstanding athletics program.
Why give to the Statesman Club?
Because State funding for Delta State Athletics is limited, the
Statesman Club is an integral factor in providing for the excellence of the program. Through donations of DSU supporters, the Statesman Club is able to provide financial support for student-athletes participating in 13 varsity sports, as well as cheerleading.
Statesmen and Lady Statesmen supporters throughout the United States and the world show their pride in DSU athletics by being a part of the Statesman Club. We welcome all DSU alumni and friends.
The Statesman Club provides three distinct “giving” opportunities:
A. Annual Giving Program - Legends Society, Legacy Club and Statesmen 360°
B. Student-Athlete Scholarship Endowment
C. Special Projects Fund
Legends Society
The anchor of the Statesman Club, the
Legends Society is highlighted by five societies dedicated to the careers of Delta State University coaching legends: Margaret Wade (W. Basketball), Dave "Boo" Ferriss (Baseball), O.W. Reily (Track), Lloyd Clark (W. Basketball) and Horace McCool (Football).
These societies are built on a platform of structured giving to the $25,000 level. This may be accomplished in a single gift or by annual gifts of $1,000 to $5,000. Once the donor has achieved the $25,000 threshold, they will be inducted into the society of their choice.

Legends Society members who maintain annual giving at the $360 or $1,000 levels will continue to receive corresponding benefits.
Legacy Club
The
Legacy Club is one of the most important donor groups to the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen. The Legacy Club is a group of 500 committed donors that believe in the vision and mission of DSU Athletics. The Legacy Club membership is based on a $1,000 annual gift. Gifts may be made monthly, quarterly, or annually.
Legacy Club members may choose from either of the donor benefit programs below.

Statesmen 360°
The
Statesmen 360° is the bedrock on which the Delta State University Athletics donor program is built. For every donor that gives to the Statesmen 360°, DSU Athletics is able to increase our recruiting footprint, improve student-athlete services, offer additional programs to our student-athletes and community, and enhance the overall student-athlete and fan experience. The Statesmen 360° membership is based on a $360 annual gift. Gifts may be made monthly, quarterly, or annually.

The Statesman Club Benefits
Statesman Club benefits are offered to members who have met 50% of their annual pledge or have a valid credit/debit card on file to make monthly installments. Any member who has not met 50% of their annual pledge will not be eligible to receive donor benefits.
