Coach Vanderpool

Mechan Vanderpool begins here second season as the primary assistant coach for on Sandra Rushing's staff.

Coach Vanderpool helped guide the 2006-2007 Lady Statesmen to the NCAA regional finals and their second straight Gulf South Conference tournament champions.

Vanderpool returned to Delta State in 2005 after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Mississippi College for Paul Allen Duke.

From 2002 until the close of the 2004 season, Vanderpool served as a graduate assistant on Rushing’s staff here at DSU. Vanderpool’s ties to Rushing go all the way back to Henderson State. While at HSU, Vanderpool served as student assistant on Rushing’s staff.

The Bryant, Ark. native is a 2002 graduate of Henderson State University. She received her master’s degree from Delta State University in 2004 in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.

Her duties include on-the-court coaching, recruiting, team and coach travel.
