Mya Braxton enters her first year as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer on Gerald Jordan's staff. Braxton will serve as the primary athletic trainer for Lady Statesmen soccer and Statesmen and Lady Statesmen basketball.
Braxton received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Bridgewater College in 2007. While at Bridgewater, Braxton not only pursued a degree in athletic training, but the Mineral, Va., native lettered in women's basketball for the Lady Eagles.
During her time as a student trainer at BC, Braxton worked with softball, men's and women's soccer, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, and football. In 2006, she earned the prestigious Outstanding Athletic Training Student Award.
In 2003, Braxton graduated from Louisa County High School where she lettered in basketball and track and field.
She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
