The Coastal Plain League announced Monday that Edenton's Greg Herbst was named the Rawlings Hitter of the Week, while Jeremy Stack of Gastonia and Coty Saranthus of Edenton were named the Rawlings Co-Pitchers of the Week for week three of action (June 14-20).

Herbst, a junior at St. Mary's (TX), started five games on the week for the Steamers and finished with an impressive .550 average. Of his 11 hits, six of them were doubles, and he racked up six runs scored and six RBIs on the week. Furthermore, Herbst tallied 17 total bases to go with a league-best .850 slugging percentage and .571 on-base percentage.

On the mound, Stack, a sophomore from Union, came through for the Grizzlies in his only appearance on the week. The 6-4, 250-pound right-hander pitched a complete game shutout of Thomasville on June 17, earning a perfect 0.00 ERA and 1-0 record. In nine innings of work, Stack scattered four hits, walked two and struck out one; all while opposing batters hit .143 against him.

Over in Edenton, Saranthus, a junior from Delta State, made four appearances in relief for the Steamers. Pitching 7 2/3 innings, the 6-0, 170-pound righty surrendered just one hit, while striking out 13. Numbers like those helped Saranthus earn a 2-0 record and keep a perfect 0.00 ERA on the week. Furthermore, opposing batters hit just .043 against him.
