CLEVELAND-After the University of Arkansas at Monticello took all four games from Arkansas Tech, those who were patiently glued to their computer screens awaiting the outcome were rewarded.

By virtue of the UAM sweep, the Lady Statesmen qualified for the Gulf South Conference Tournament for a record 25th straight time.

The Lady Statesmen qualified as the fourth seed from the West Division, and will take on No. 13 Alabama Huntsville on Friday at the Greenbrook Softball Complex in Southaven, Miss.

UAH earned the number one seed from the East Division.

Alabama Huntsville claimed a 9-0 win over the Lady Statesmen on April 11 at the Gulf South Conference Crossover.

All Lady Statesmen action at the GSC Tournament will be carried live on the Lady Statesmen Sports Network.
