CANTON, Ohio – The Delta State Lady Statesmen saw two of their swimmers notch Top Ten finishes while the men's team had individual and team relay Top Ten finishes in the third day of competition at the NCAA National Division II Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.
Amanda Guidry turned in the best Delta State performance of the day, finishing 7th in the 200-yard butterfly event with a time of 2 minutes, 3.93 seconds.
Hannah Willis also notched Top Ten finish, placing 10th in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke, completing the event with a time of 56.54 seconds. Alyce Meador also competed in the event, finishing 22nd.
Willis was also part of DSU's 800-yard freestyle relay team which finished 19th with a time of 7:52.57. Willias was joined by teammates Mary Katherine Waddell, Sam Fajardo and Hannah Boudreaux.
Wolfgang Mairinger highlighted the DSU men's Day 3 performance with a 9th-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle event. Mairinger finished with a time of 4:31.42.
The Statesmen had two swimmers compete in the finals of the 500 freestyle, as Adam Dajka finished 16th with a time of 4:39.61.
Dajka also swam on the men's 800-yard freestyle relay team which finished 10th place with a time of 6:47.22. Cameron Weidele, Dalton da Silva and Adam Milecz were also members of the relay team.
After three days of competition, the Statesmen were in 15th place in the team standings, while the Lady Statesmen were 20th.
