Lady Statesmen slide six spots to No. 12 in USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25

CLEVELAND - After finishing the week 1-1 with a 77-51 win over Harding on Thursday and an unexpected 68-55 loss at Henderson State on Saturday, the Lady Statesmen (16-2, 5-2 GSC) of Delta State University slid six spots to No. 12 in the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Women's Basketball Top 25 Poll, as released by the WBCA on Tuesday.
Franklin Pierce (19-0) remained No. 1 followed by Indianapolis (21-0), Gannon (22-0), Michigan Tech (18-1) and Emporia State (19-1) in the top five. Fort Lewis (20-2) moved to No. 6 with fellow GSC foe Arkansas Tech (18-1) remaining No. 7. California-San Diego (17-1), West Texas A&M (20-2) and Lander (18-1) rounded out the top 10.
No other GSC schools were in the top 25 or among other schools receiving votes.
The Lady Statesmen return to the court Thursday night against the Lady Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University (10-10, 2-5 GSC). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Walter Sillers Coliseum.
