Final NSISC Championships Results
CLEVELAND - With buzzer sounding on the final events Saturday night, Truman State and Missouri S&T had repeated as champions at the 21st annual NSISC Championships, hosted by Delta State at the DSU Aquatics Center.
The Lady Statesmen finished second in the team standings while the Statesmen men finished in third place.
Adam Dajka claimed the men's individual title for Delta State as the highest-scoring performer in the men's competition. Nicole Horn of Henderson State and Katie Aherne of Truman State tied for the high point total among women's competitors.
Delta State claimed victories in the final day of competition, with the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen claiming two triumphs apiece. Dajka won the 200-yard backstroke with a time 1 minute, 48.08 seconds, barely a half-second ahead of Nelson Silva of Ouachita Baptist.
The Statesmen were also victorious in the final event of the day, winning the 400-yard Freestyle relay. The team of Adam Milecz, Deniz Guner, Steven Ingvoldstad and Justin Ingvoldstad finished the relay with a time of 3:02.32, barely defeating Ouachita Baptist in a close finish. The Tigers' team finished less than four-tenths of a second behind Delta State.
Delta State was victorious in both 200-yard backstroke competitions, as Hannah Willis won the women's event to open the Saturday session. Willis won the event with a time of a 2:03.06, a full two seconds ahead Stacey Wymer of Truman State.
DSU's Amanda Guidry added to her list of victories at the meet when she won the 200-yard butterfly event with a time 2:03.60. Guidry finished by a full second and a half over Ksenia Gromova of Ouachita Baptist.
