CLEVELAND –Led by a pair of nationally-ranked singles players, the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University cracked the nation's top 25 for the first time this season in the latest Campbell's/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top 25 Poll, as released on Tuesday. The Lady Statesmen are 9-4 overall, and 6-0 in Gulf South Conference West Division.

Two Lady Statesmen also vaulted into the nation's top 50 singles rankings. Katherinna Nett, a junior from Grafschaft, Germany, climbed to No. 31 after returning from injury earlier this year. The 2008 first team All-GSC selection is 2-2 this season in No. 1 singles, and 3-2 in doubles.

The Lady Statesmen clinched their second-straight GSC West Division title with an 8-1 victory over Harding this past Friday at University Courts. The ladies have one more regular season match remaining on their schedule, an April 11 showdown with Southern Arkansas. DSU will enter the upcoming GSC Championships in Montgomery, Ala., April 17-19 as the No. 1 seed out of the West Division.
