Lady Statesmen finished 13th at the NCAA South Regional Saturday in Tampa, Fla.

DOVER, Fla. – The Delta State Lady Statesmen competed at the NCAA South Regional Cross Country meet on Saturday, finishing 13th out of 14 teams at the event hosted by the University of Tampa.

As she has all season, Kristin Williams led the Lady Statesmen ensemble at the race, finishing 50th with a time of 25:48. Ashley Carrillo and Dixie Griffin also finished among the top 80 competitors, finishing 70th (26:48) and 77th (27:42), respectively.

Brittany Eikner (81st, 28:19) and Amanda Cornelison (86th, 29:27) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Statesmen, as the top five competitors from each team factor in the team scoring.

Elizabeth Fike (89th, 29:27) and Hend Alboshaba (30:41) also competed in the regional meet.

The hosting Tampa Lady Spartans won the team title as their fastest five competitors all finished in the top 10. Sara Trane of Florida Tech won the individual event with a time of 21:37.
