Trevar Deed named finalist for CellularSouth Conerly Trophy

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) —
A 2007 recipient of the award for Mississippi's top college football player is up for the honor again.

Southern Mississippi senior running back Damion Fletcher, the school's all-time rushing leader, was among 10 nominees named Monday for the 2009 Conerly Trophy.

The trophy will be presented Nov. 30 during a ceremony at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.

The other nominees are: quarterback Tim Buckley, Alcorn State; wide receiver Cordario Calvin, Belhaven College; wide receiver Trevar Deed, Delta State; Jackson State defensive back Malcolm Palmer; Milsaps quarterback Chris Graves; quarterback Adam Shaffer, Mississippi College; Mississippi State running back Anthony Dixon; defensive lineman Jared Green, Mississippi Valley State; and running Dexter McCluster, Ole Miss.

The Conerly Trophy is sponsored by Cellular South.
