Harding shuts out Lady Statesmen 3-0
The Lady Statesmen faced rainy conditions Friday.

SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding Lady Bisons claimed a 3-0 victory over Delta State on a rain-soaked pitch Friday and sent the Lady Statesmen to their sixth consecutive defeat.

Chloe Birdwell netted her first goal of the season for the Bisons in the 26th minute to provide the match-winner for Harding.

Harding (3-7-1) improved to 1-2 in Gulf South Conference play. The Lady Statesmen (2-7) fell to 0-3 in league play.

The Lady Bisons outshot Delta State 21-1 in the match. Of Harding’s 21 shots, nine were on target, as Sam Le Jeune made six saves.

Sandra Nirva registered the only shot on goal for the Lady Statesmen in the second half.

The Lady Statesmen return to action Sunday when they visit Ouachita Baptist to continue their two-match swing through Arkansas. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., and will be the first match of a men’s and women’s doubleheader.
