Jordan Breaux and the Statesmen will look to rally in the second round of the Indian Bayou Classic

DESTIN, Fla. -- The Delta State University golf team is currently in 13th place in the 18 team field after one round of play at the Indian Bayou Classic.

The host team, North Alabama, leads Valdosta State by five strokes after an opening round total of 285. The Statesmen are 25 strokes behind after an opening round team total of 310.

DSU was led by Casey Patterson who shot an opening round 75. Chase Smith was not far behind with a 76. Austin Smithers (78), Jordan Breaux (81) and Seth McBrayer (84) finished up the scoring for the Statesmen. Collin McCrary shot a first round total of 76 as an individual player.

The second and final round will begin at 8:15 a.m.
